I cropped this from a shot hand-held, with my 300mm lens. Not the best in quality, but the intensity of the stare made me keep the shot. This one is all about the emotion it conveys, and not so much about the quality of the pixels.

Vodka Tonics for the Soul

Vodka Tonics for the Soul

VODKA TONICS FOR THE SOUL is an eclectic collection of poetry written by Bruce Wayne Sullivan, a former bartender. Inspired by his South Lousiana roots and selected works taken from his first book, "Reflections From The Other Side, the world through the eyes of a bartender," Sullivan takes the reader on another sojourn through the inner world of the human psyche, spanning the crossroads of human experience that reflect turning points where most people have been. This is a down in the trenches book and the reader should be prepared to take a downward descent where the deafened echoes of impoverished america can be heard.

Lenise Drinks A Vodka Tonic @ Faces

I don't remember what was going on when I took this photo but I do recall being fascinated with the way the light was picking up this young woman's drink.

By this time she was used to me taking a million photos of everyone and everything, so she barely noticed.

I believe this was the last time I ever went to Faces.

Herbaltini "Just Add Vodka" Tincture Kit - YIN & TONIC - Health and Vitality Tonic

"YIN & TONIC" Health and Vitality Tonic
A combination of the finest herbs available, blended into a tonic designed for strengthening your heart, lowering blood pressure, improving blood circulation, toning blood vessels, lowering cholesterol, boosting immunity, and reducing minor aches and pains. It's just got it all!
Size: 1 Quart (approx. 1 liter)
Organically Grown Ingredients:: Akashiba (Red Reishi ), Ashwagangha Root, Ginkgo Biloba Nut, Korean Panax Ginseng Root, Sliced Turmeric Root, and Hawthorn Berries.

WHY ALCOHOL? WHY ARE TINCTURES SUPERIOR TO HERBAL TEA OR CAPSULES?
For thousands of years, alcohol has been the professional herbalist's top choice to fully release and preserve the effectiveness of herbs. Many herbal/medicinal properties contained in the leaf, bark, nut, and root of herb are not water soluble, so the constituents are not fully released upon ingestion and some are destroyed by the hot water. Dried herbs, as in powders or capsules, can start to lose potency quickly and may not get assimilated upon digestion. Alcohol also helps tinctures assimilate into the bloodstream much faster than a capsule or tea. And as a final bonus, alcohol allows your tincture to remain potent for years! For those who can't have alcohol, your Herbaltini Tincture Kit will come with instructions for preparing your tincture alcohol-free.

HERBALTINI PREPARATION INSTRUCTIONS will be included with your order with an unbleached cotton cheesecloth to strain your tincture.

Cantelopes & Watermelons

Cantelopes & Watermelons

This is a scan of an old photograph of my granddad and some cantelopes and watermelons that he raised on his farm in Kentucky sometime about 1970. On the back of the photo, my grandma wrote that as of the time of this photo, that they had sold $47 worth of cantelopes & watermelons. All six of the cantelopes had a combined weight of 91 lbs. and the watermelons weighed 45 lbs. each. I was very close to my granddad...he passed away in 1990.
